Chooks (WIP)

Just a little something I'm working on to improve my vector skills...this is still in progress, but I'm hoping it can become a tshirt design eventually.

loveyourblog

I'm so chuffed I got this little message from Ingrid of Lottielulu (http://www.lottielulu.blogspot.com/)

I’m so excited! I’ve been chosen by Ingrid of Lottielulu as one of her 7 blogs she loves! I feel so honoured and touched…and just a bit shy about it, too! I’m completely bowled over in fact. Can you hear me shuffling my feet and looking intently at my fingernails? Awww, shucks!
So now it’s my turn to spread the love around…

I nominate these blogs, as I love them very much. There are many, many talented and wonderful bloggy types out there and I’m unearthing more and more each day…just love it!

Gala House (Honor Bowden)

Cupcakes Photography

Gina Perry

Noosed Kitty

Piper in a Pear Tree

Silvia Pavarini

Dropes de Mentol

These are the rules:

1. Choose seven of your favourite blogs to nominate and link back to them
2. Link to the person from whom you received the award
3. Leave a message on the blogs that you’ve nominated
4. Post the award on your blog (optional)

Crazy Drummer

Not my usual subject matter!

I drew this in response to being invited to join a group called 'Rock Music Illustrations'. There are some great illustration there, but I noticed almost all of them feature either lead singers or guitarists. Since my better half used to drum, I figured I'd promote the most ignored person in the band! Ha!

This one started out as a punk but turned into more of a reggae man. Next time I want to do a girl drummer.

Kazuno Kohara - Ghosts in the House!

Of course this image is subject to copyright and not mine. I just love the artwork in this book soooo much....
The artist has either used or replicated the look of wood block or lino block prints, and it is just stunning.

I could claim that I want to buy this for my almost 4 year old, but truth is I want it all for meeeeee!!! Muahahaha!

I just love the artwork in this book soooo much….the story is cute too - about a witch who finds ghosts in the house.

Kawaii in the Kitchen

Who wouldn't want to cook with a set of pots like these? I'm just smitten! If I unleashed myself on this website with a credit card it would be a very dangerous thing indeed...

A fun little game (round 2)

1. <a href=Witch Hazel, 2. Kappa Maki, 3. Duval Guillaume Offices., 4. Aqua & Pink Crinoline Hazel Atlas., 5. Orlando Bloom’s tribute to Heath Ledger, 6. Lime Mojito, 7. Grafará and Ennishnjúkur in the back, 8. Sticky Toffee Pudding, 9. She Sells Sea Shells on the Sea Shore, 10. Approaching Storm At Olmstead Point II In B/W, 11. cancan preparations, 12. sunshine in my eyes

I thoroughly enjoyed this game last time, and couldn’t resist another round. The last image is the same, but otherwise, some of my answers were different, because of course we are all fickle humans who change our minds constantly - none more than me!

Can we go for a swim?

This is the refrain we hear constantly now... My 3.5 year old, who was very hesitant to even get in the water is now a little fish, swimming off at any chance, with (of course) her little bubble on her back (drawn here as a ring, because it's cuter).

I’m on my husband’s computer for now, and I feel rather lost. The brushes are different, the colours look strange, the mouse feels different…I hope my old computer will work when we finally pull it out of a box and boot it up!

Thankfully, I have found my paints and paper, so I will probably try to spend what little spare time I have doing things the old-fashioned way….lovely!

We made it…

So we finally arrived in sunny Hawaii this weekend. We’re still recovering from jet-lag, and my art supplies are still jetting their way here in an array of chaotically packed boxes, but it’s very exciting.

5 minute doodle #41: If I ruled the world…and…”Poof!”

Well, to be honest, if I ruled the world I'd decree that everyone had to go very, very green. I'd keep them all very busy doing that, hopefully too busy to keep fighting and being naughty.

And this one is for the Illustration Friday group on Flickr:
I'm taking the word for the week 'Poof' from the meaning to 'vanish something' :)

In Australia it is used as an offensive name for a gay man.

(3 days until we move overseas!!! Eeeek!! As you can see my procrastination skill has reached dizzying heights!)
